Ship ahoy! Aboard the “Altaussee” – Austria’s first solar-powered ship – you will glide gently across the deep-blue waters of the Altausseer See. Once you have docked on the shores of the “Seewiese” nature sanctuary, you will be able to discover the magic of this special landscape on foot. If, in the face of so much beauty, you happen to get a little bit hungry or thirsty, you will undoubtedly find a perfect spot to sit down at Jagdhaus Seewiese or one of the other eateries close to the lake.

Special Tour "Bombing Michelangelo"

The Sandling is a true “Mountain of Treasures”, since it did indeed serve as a kind of “treasure chamber” during the Second World War, warehousing some of the most valuable art treasures in all of Europe. The special tour leads you back to the last weeks of the Second World War – a prize-winning multimedia documentary will allow you to experience how the miners of Altaussee resisted the senseless destructive rage of the National Socialists. And to see what the courage of a single person is capable of achieving.
